Turbinaria mesenterina is a large, heavy-bodied stony coral with foliate or blade-like plates that form intricate, layered structures. Coloration ranges from brown, tan, and cream to yellow or greenish, often with polyps that extend from the skeleton and appear as small tentacled polyps along the plates.
