About Randall's Surgeonfish
Randall's Surgeonfish is a striking yellow tang with a deep blue or purple body coloration, contrasting sharply with a bright yellow dorsal and anal fin. The caudal (tail) fin is yellow with a blue rim. The species displays the characteristic surgeonfish body shape—laterally compressed and disc-like—with a venomous spine (scalpel-like projection) on either side of the caudal peduncle.
