About Blue-Spotted Blenny

A small blenny with a predominantly brown to tan body covered in distinctive blue spots and rings, particularly prominent on the head and upper body. The body is elongated and somewhat cylindrical. Males often display larger cirri (head tentacles) than females, and may show more intense coloration during breeding.

Diet Details
Blenniella periophthalmus feeds on small crustaceans, copepods, amphipods, and algae. In captivity, offer high-quality mysis shrimp, small frozen foods, and quality flake or pellet foods. Supplement with herbivorous foods and ensure adequate live rock for grazing.

• Minimum 30 gallon tank with plenty of live rock and crevices for shelter and grazing • Temperature range: 72–78°F; maintain stable conditions • pH: 8.0–8.3; salinity: 1.020–1.025 SG • Feed 2–3 times daily with varied diet including mysis shrimp, small crustaceans, and herbivorous foods • Peaceful with other fish and invertebrates; excellent reef community member • Avoid copper-based treatments and maintain excellent water quality

Moderate difficulty. Requires stable conditions, a well-established reef with abundant hiding places and live rock for grazing. Generally hardy once acclimated but sensitive to poor water quality and copper-based medications.
