About Network Pipefish

The Network Pipefish is a slender, elongated fish with a distinctive reticulated (net-like) pattern of dark lines over a pale yellowish or tan body. The head tapers to a small mouth typical of pipefish. It reaches about 6 inches in length and has a segmented body with minimal fin development, relying on subtle movements for locomotion.

Diet Details
Network Pipefish feed primarily on small crustaceans in captivity, particularly live copepods and amphipods. Frozen mysis shrimp may be accepted but live food is strongly preferred. Feeding small portions multiple times daily supports their high metabolic demands.
Origin
Indo-Pacific region from Indonesia to the Philippines and throughout the western Pacific, typically found in shallow seagrass beds and coastal reef environments.
Care Requirements
• Minimum 20 gallon tank with plenty of seagrass, macroalgae, or synthetic sea-grass for anchoring and grazing behavior • Temperature range 72–78°F, pH 8.1–8.3, salinity 1.020–1.025 SG • Feed small live foods (copepods, amphipods, mysis shrimp) 2–3 times daily; will rarely accept frozen or prepared foods • Requires calm water flow and a gentle, mature aquarium environment with minimal competition • Keep singly or in established pairs; extremely sensitive to sudden parameter changes and tank stress
