Key facts
- Care Requirements
- • Minimum 75-gallon tank (150+ gal preferred for adults) • SG 1.020-1.025, pH 8.1-8.3, temp 72-78°F • Strong water flow, excellent filtration, low nitrate • Abundant live rock/algae for grazing; not fully reef-safe • Compatible with peaceful fish; may nip ornamental corals
- Difficulty Level
- The Kole Tang is moderately difficult and best suited to established reef aquariums with plenty of live rock for grazing. It requires stable water conditions, consistent feeding of algae-based foods, and a tank of at least 75 gallons to thrive long-term.
