About Queen Angelfish

The Queen Angelfish is a large, vibrant fish with a predominantly yellow body, blue facial markings, and blue-edged fins. It features a distinctive blue-rimmed black spot on the dorsal fin (the "crown"), yellow pectoral fins, and blue striping around the mouth and gill covers. The body is laterally compressed with a disc-like shape typical of pomacanthids.

Diet Details
Feed a varied omnivorous diet including high-quality marine flakes, frozen foods (mysis shrimp, brine shrimp), and vegetable matter such as spirulina, nori, and blanched vegetables. Feed 2-3 times daily in smaller amounts to maintain water quality.
Origin
Western Atlantic, including the Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and along the coasts of Florida and Brazil. Found from Florida southward through the Caribbean to Brazil.

Appearance
The Queen Angelfish is a large, vibrant fish with a predominantly yellow body, blue facial markings, and blue-edged fins. The body is laterally compressed with a disc-like shape typical of pomacanthids.
Care Requirements
• Minimum 150 gallon tank • Requires substantial open swimming space and hiding places among rockwork • Maintain temperature 72–78 °F and salinity 1.020–1.025 • pH should be maintained at 8.1–8.3 • Prone to parasitic infections (ich, velvet) and requires excellent water quality; quarantine strongly recommended before adding to display tank • May nip at or consume soft corals and some LPS corals; best suited to fish-dominant or fish-only setups despite "reef safe with caution" rating
