About Goldspotted Rabbitfish

Small, laterally compressed body with a beige to olive-green background color covered in distinctive gold or yellow spots throughout the head and body. Possesses venomous spines on the dorsal and anal fins, a characteristic feature of rabbitfish.

Diet Details
Primarily grazes on algae, seaweed, and macroalgae. In captivity, provide high-quality dried seaweed sheets (nori), marine algae preparations, and quality herbivore pellets supplemented with fresh vegetable matter. Should be fed daily with multiple small portions.
Origin
Indo-Pacific region from the Red Sea and East Africa to the Central Pacific, including the Great Barrier Reef and Micronesia.
Notes
Excellent algae eater. Venomous dorsal spines - handle with care. Peaceful and reef safe with caution.
Care Requirements
• 75+ gallon tank minimum; prefers spacious, open setup • Stable water params: pH 8.1-8.3, SG 1.020-1.025, temp 72-78°F • Heavy grazer; requires abundant macroalgae and vegetable matter • Nocturnal; provide caves/shelters for daytime refuge • Can be territorial toward conspecifics and smaller fish
